What's so preposterous ?   Written by Mandy N (4/30/2007 11:38 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Hmmm, penned by Mrs. Van Dunk
Are you new?

It took not a minute but 'half the whole evening' for the Assembly to change it's favourable opionion of Darcy, he still remained aloof and spoke to no-one except his own party. Ch.3.

Darcy probably is there for his friend and househost, Bingley yet if Darcy wants to experience the neighborhood, he made no effort to speak with or get to know the Meryton people, does he ?

He didn't care if he discomforted people at the Assembly and back at Netherfield says he felt not the smallest interest in the Meryton people, though he made no attempt to speak with them- so perhaps he should have remained at Netherfield.
Btw, it was really intended as a flippant remark.
Don't worry, when I see Darcy behaving better, then my opionion of his manners and attitude will improve. ;)
