Decorum or Mr Bennett's perversity   Written by Susan L (4/29/2007 9:18 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Bingley's first visit to Longbourne, penned by Silvia O
Are you new?

Not knowing enough about the times to be sure, I raise the alternative theory that Mr Bennett deliberately didn't introduce his daughters to Bingley. That he thought on his wife's comment regarding marriage and decided not to to tease Mrs B.

Or that he found he liked Bingley and decided to keep him all to himself .. that basically he never gave the introduction a thought.

Neither of these explanations show Mr Bennett in a good light and suggest he's remiss in manners, and thinks more of himself than others.
