Are you new?

that a couple of her daughters did not "accidently" run into Mr. Bingley as he was leaving? Or was she not around and the girls were too well mannered not to orchestrate such a thing themselves? You would think that Lydia would have had no such qualms.

I think if I had been Mrs. Bennett and was anxious for my daughters to meet Mr. Bingley, as soon as I got wind of his arrival, I would have been knocking on that library door to ask him if he would not like some tea. Then I would have had at least Jane & Lizzie bring it in to them if he would not be able to join them in the drawing room. Would this sort of thing have been innapropriate? Or would a man to man visit like that only include a drink of whiskey?

I always wondered though why it wasn't ensured that the girls met him before the dance so that they would have already been introduced and could then dance together, especially since Mr. Bennett was not there.
