it just always cracks me up that Darcy dances with her at Meryton while refusing to dance with Elizabeth. :-)

Darcy dancing with Caroline shows that Darcy knows what is expected of a gentleman, yet he refuses introductions to other ladies-- ladies who are the neighbours if his very good friend and host.
