How Elizabeth took it   Written by Cheryl (4/29/2007 4:31 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Darcy is the author of all…, penned by Robbin
Are you new?

] Lizzy tells her friends the story of Darcy feeling above his company with great spirit, believing it to be ridiculous.

You do have to wonder how Lizzy really took such rudeness. I think she was much more hurt than she let on, witness the fact that she refers to it later on that she "could easily forgive his pride, if he had not mortified mine." (ch.6) As it is, she "... remained with no very cordial feelings towards him." (ch. 3)

Luckily she's someone who can laugh at herself. But can you imagine the hue and cry if someone had been so rude to Miss Bingley?! There would never ben an end to her horror. ;-)
