Longbourn etc   Written by JulieW (4/29/2007 11:24 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, A question, penned by Maria Liourdi
Are you new?

Hertfordshire is a real county in England.

Meryton is a fictional town in that county, and must have been of some importance/size as it had its own mayor: not every town in England had or has one ;-)

Longbourn is a ( fictional) village about a mile from Meryton ( Chapter 7),and again is in the same county.

Netherfield Park is a fictional estate with a house ,grounds and land which was farmed no doubt and also provides game for the tenant and his friends to shoot during the season.

Does that help?
