In Ch. 4 JA describes the Bingley family ;
' They were of a respectable family in the north of England; a circumstance more deeply impressed in their on their memories than that their brother's fortune and their own had been acquired by trade.'
My impression is the paragraph refers both to Bingley family and fortune. Or is it in reference to only the Bingley fortune of nearly £100,000 not Mr Bingley's family.
I'd be interested in what others think. :)
