Darcys pride   Written by Michaela (4/29/2007 8:10 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Fickle Public Opinion, penned by Cheryl
Are you new?

Charlotte says in Ch.5 .. His pride does not offend me so much as pride often does, because there is an excuse for it.... he has a right to be proud.. And Mary explains ..A person may be proud without being vain..

I do suppose that the townspeople were led by envy and low self-esteem to condemn him so quickly. Charlotte and Mary obviously dont think him the most disagreeable man in the world, and Lizzy would ...easily forgive his pride, if he had not mortified hers.
