] I often imagine that having found really good catches for one's daughters was equivalent to, these days, Ivy League admissions.

Mrs Bennet may not have arranged the marriages of her daughters, but she was going to take credit for all the good that came of them. I can just hear her saying, "My daughters' husbands are soooooo rich, that ________ [fill in the blank here!]."
