Marys desire for amusement   Written by Johanna Elisabet (1/19/2004 7:21 p.m.)
Are you new?

Even Mary looks forward to the Netherfield Ball. She says as much in chapter 17. In P&P2 she seems very interested when Mr Collins professes his hopes to dance with all his fair cousins. But they are only seen standing and talking. Could this be an opportunity for her to shine as "the most accomplished girl in the neighbourhood"(chapter 3 or what would she consider as "recreation and amusement" at a ball?
