Caroline & Lizzy at the ball   Written by Shiffie (1/19/2004 3:05 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Crowing over Lizzy, penned by Kathi
Are you new?

I don't think Caroline's motives in "warning" Lizzy about Wickham were any deeper than pure nastiness.(although she probobly wants to be nasty to Elizabeth because she is somewhat jealous of her) She wants to ridicule Lizzy's taste in favoring a man who is only the son of a steward and who has behaved "infamously". She is mocking Lizzy and hoping to get Lizzy angry.
