Yes, indeed!   Written by Ramya (1/11/2004 12:41 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Differences between JA and AD, penned by Linda
Are you new?

He can very well hold his own, in front of his sisters, and even Darcy. JA tells us that though Darcy and Bingley were different, and he had a high regard for Darcy, he never seemed dissatisfied with his own character.

For one, he choose to come to Netherfield, though it was so far removed from fashionable society. He obviously would have known how his sisters felt about it!

Whenever his sisters make degrading remarks about Jane's relatives, or even Lizzy, he stands up for them.

Also, he does not feel guilty at enjoying the Meryton assemblies, even though the others profess to despise them, and even encourages his friend Darcy, to have fun!

AD made him more of a wagging-dog, which was funny, but not true to JA's Bingley!
