I've always liked Mr. Bennet   Written by Tara O'Donnell (1/18/2004 8:02 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Something I realized, penned by Christiana
Are you new?

Mr. B's refusal to force Lizzie into marrying Mr. Collins makes him my favorite JA father(true,he does love to poke fun at his wife and other daughters but I do believe he cares for them,in his own amusing way)and he very dramatically understates his position"Your mother will never see you again if you do not marry Mr. Collins and I shall never see you again,,if you do!"

Mrs. B gets so disappointed-not having two married daughters at once! I do agree that Mr. B has more of Lizzie's emotional issues at heart but I also suspect that he wishes to avoid having such an absurd son in law:D.
