I agree Mr Bennet seems focused on the emotional aspects of a possible match; I think that is why he supported Lizzy for refusing Mr Collins as he realized he was 'not a sensible man' and ill suited for Lizzy. The only point I can't agree with you is Mrs Bennet being concerned her daughters to make marriages for their security. Personally, I think she's worried for her own material security with the entailment.This seems why she was so upset Lizzie refused Mr Collins who was to inherit...Sometimes I think it's a pity the Bennets didn't encourage Mr Collins with Mary. She'd be likely to accept him and they'd be tempermentally suited.
