Thank Goodness   Written by BarbaraB (1/18/2004 12:37 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Elizabeth, penned by Johanna Elisabet
Are you new?

Thank goodness Lizzie does have a wonderful relationship with her father. In this week's reading we get the information that Lizzie was the least favorite of her mother. I can't help wondering how this evolved. Did Lizzy's wit and humor captivate her father right from the start thereby casting her to the bottom of her mother's list. Or did the fact that her mother found her lacking in beauty somewhat in comparison to Jane right from the start, prompt Lizzie to gravitate towards her father. And then being in his company so much she just naturally developed a wit to match his thereby further cementing a close father-daughter relationship that has finally reached the mature level of confidences that we see today. Great observation, thanks.
