Why does Caroline Bingley try to defend Darcy infront of Elizabeth? After her dance with Darcy Caroline comes up and start to talk about Wickham, telling Lizzy that he is lying. This might have been an opportunity for Caroline to get rid of her competition, instead she interferes.
