A question of etiquette   Written by Jo Y (1/16/2004 8:59 p.m.)
Are you new?

In Chapter 3, Mr Bingley returns Mr Bennet's visit, and "sat about ten minutes with him in his library." Was it the etiquette of the time to not introduce the rest of the family? JA tells us that Mr Bingley had hopes of meeting them, and they were there because they observed him from an upper window. Mr Bennet had not been very forthcoming with information on Mr Bingley despite his family's efforts, so is he continuing to "play with/tease" them?
