Neither Jane or Lizzy are ever rude to their silly mother so in some cases they probably defer to some of Mrs. Bennet's decisions. I agree with the others who said that with 5 daughters she most likely had experience with the s-mother-ing. After all, she did say that no one dies of trifling colds!
