Mr Bennets relation to his daughters   Written by Johanna Elisabet (1/11/2004 10:10 a.m.)
Are you new?

I wrote about Marys relationship with her father in another thread, but since I think itīs a new topic Iīll post this.

Mary seems to use her readings to get attention from her family. Mr Bennet does credit her for her reading (chapter 2)but is it sarcastic or is he intrested in her ideas?

Lizzie is without doubt his favourite since she has the ability to understand his jokes, she "has something more of quickness" as he describes it.

Kitty and Lydia are too silly for him but Jane has some value to him as he finds out while she and Lizzie are at Netherfield.

Any thoughts?
