That explains why there was no fish to be got (I never thought to wonder about that!), but do you know why the fishing fleet didn't go out on Mondays? Was it just that they had to have a day off, and that was it, or was there some other reason? (I can't see them setting out on Sundays, either - that would have been considered sacrilegious, wouldn't it?)
