Lizzy sends for Mrs Bennet   Written by Kristen G. (1/14/2004 6:18 p.m.)
Are you new?

The most interesting part of this week's chapters, to me, anyway, is Lizzy wanting her mother to come and see Jane at Netherfield...

In spite of this amendment, however, [Elizabeth] requested to have a note sent to Longbourn, desiring her mother to visit Jane, and form her own judgment of her situation.

Now, Lizzy has more sense than her mother, and she knows this. Yet, she still sends for Mrs Bennet when Jane is unwell. Does this make sense? Or does it just prove that a mother, however silly, is still Mum?
