I agree - for example, the scene in chapter 11 where Caroline takes Lizzy for a walk around the room. I have to think Caroline was going to great lengths affecting elegance for Darcy, and showing him how much higher class she is than Elizabeth.
After all, this is right after she made her "I should like balls infinitely better..." comment. Besides, wasn't learning to walk elegantly one of the things young ladies did (alongside reading and playing the "instrument")? I expect she thought her classy walk would set her above Lizzy country-girl gait.
