Excellent point, Vanessa M!   Written by Line (1/13/2004 7:39 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Okay, I didn't laugh..., penned by Tori Marie
Are you new?

I can't count the number of times I've read P&P, but it never struck me before that Darcy complained about not receiving attention from the other Assembly-goers! Now I'm puzzled - I'm a bit fuzzy on this, but I always understood that as the highest-ranking person at that rank-conscious gathering, if Darcy didn't want to be introduced to someone, no introduction would take place - in short, he definitely had to make the first move. How could he complain about getting no attention under these circumstances, given the way he behaved himself? I'd really appreciate it if someone could explain this to me!

(BTW, I can definitely see the people of Meryton being rather in awe of him, even though they were eager to meet the celebrity!)
