"...everybody says that he is ate up with pride,".
The novel text linked from the P&P page says "eat up with pride". I have no access to my other editions, so I cannot check those. And isn't this a grammatical error? Shouldn't Mrs. Bennet say "eaten up with pride"? I know JA has certain characters speak ungrammatically to show their personality (Lucy Steele, for example), but I have found no other instances of Mrs. Bennet's doing so.
By the bye, AD has Miss Bingley ask of Georgianna "Is she as tall as me?". The book says "as tall as I am". Why would the filmmakers make such a mistake?
