Mr. Bennet, as a Regency-era father   Written by Johanna Elisabet (1/13/2004 2:47 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Mr. Bennet as a father of young children, penned by Kathi
Are you new?

]Mr. Bennet, as a Regency-era father, had the ultimate responsibility for making sure that his daughters were raised properly, even if he would not have been expected to take the hands-on approach. He has known since shortly after his marriage that his wife was not up to the job, but he has not made other arragements.

I snipped this from one of your (Kathi) posts in another thread. I remembered that I thouhgt it was a very good reply about Mr Bennets responsibilities. I especially agree with the part that you state that he didnīt need to take the hand-on approach. Maybe things would have turned out differently if the girls had some kind of tutor.
