]Perhaps Mr Bennet simply wanted to remove one topic from Mrs Bennet's list of things to drone on about. :-)

When they return from the ball and Mrs Bennet is listing all of Mr Bingley's dance partners I could almost feel Mr Bennet's blood pressure rise!
