'Uniting them'   Written by Mandy N (2/23/2004 8:13 a.m.)
Are you new?

The last two words of the story seem very appropriate. Lizzy and Darcy, two people of apparently diverse qualities gradually find mutual understanding and love. Pemberley is the dream place where such unity is made possible. One of my favourite later scenes in P&P2 is of Lizzy standing before the large portrait of Darcy while the original wanders the grounds in a wet shirt- And how the camera goes to and fro between her studying Darcy's portrait while he wonders how he to forget Lizzie. Then their sudden meeting in the grounds. Finally, 'With the Gardiners, they were always on the most intimate terms...the persons who, by bringing her into Derbyshire, had been the means of uniting them.'
