Interesting and informative! I didn't realize the tradition of sea bathing extended back as far as the 1730s'. Love the picture above- on the beach? I almost wish P&P2 could've fit in a 2 minute shot of 'the others at Scarborough' sea bathing. Just to view the contraption and I'm so sure Miss Bingley with her figure and sophistication would still manage to make a bathing costume appear refined. ;)
