...marriage to a wife like Charlotte Lucas might be a sensible, moderating influence on him. As the book progresses he seems to get worse. At first I felt abit sorry as he had such a mean father but it appears Mr Collins jnr is no better. From just downright silly and self important to this rather vulgar gloating. Why? Because Lizzy Bennet refused to marry him or because he knows her Ladyship must disapprove of scandel. Someone should remind him the scandel concerns his own cousin. And he will be inheriting a 'tainted' estate.
