I always noticed this too!   Written by Katie R (2/20/2004 5:01 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Lydia vs. her kind & good sisters -- Jane & Elizabeth, penned by kathleen (elder)
Are you new?

The discression and forbearance of Jane and Lizzy was incredible. It would be excruiating to sit through Lydia's boasting, but they stay silent and still treat her with respect. Despite how irritating she is they still love her and you can really sense the extreme pity and regret for Lydia's situation knowing what her life is to be like, though she does not know it herself.

They are the best sisters Lydia could ask for yet she doesn't realise it. I always hope that when Lydia is older (and suffered a little) she may come to appreciate them, but it seems unlikely
