Are you new?

In ch.55, Mrs. Bennet invites Bingley to dine with them the next day (which would be around 4 pm, IIRC). How is it that Bingley arrives so early in the morning that the ladies aren't even dressed yet? Wouldn't even the most eager gentleman think twice about arriving six or seven hours early for dinner?
