]I'm always astonished about Darcy's remark of "a pair of fine eyes". What does he intend? Is he so open and does he really always tell the truth or does he want to show Miss Bingley that he is not in love with her but that he admires another woman?

He is admiring Elizabeth and admitting it. I did not think he was trying to show Miss Bingley anything.
