When Lady Catherine de Bourgh comes to Longbourn to give Lizzy her opinion on marriage with Darcy the text states: "It was too early in the morning for visitors," (chapter 56)
It is fifty miles between Meryton and Hunsford.(chapter 32) Sir William and company arrived at Gracechurch street by noon when they were travelling to visit Charlotte, and they had had an early start.(chapter 27)In another thread during this GR IIRC it was decided that it was too dangerous to travel the roads by night.(Lizzy and the Gardiners sleeping one night on the road between Lambton and Loungbourn, chapter 47)
So is it right to assume that Lady Catherine had a sleepover in London and arrived at Longbourn by noon or would she had insisted on travelling all night and arrived around breakfast, since Bingley and the female Bennets was sitting in the diningroom? IŽd be happy for any information on times for visits. :)
