Remember, at the time they received the express, the Bennet family had no reason to suspect Mr. Darcy's involvement at all. In fact, Mr. Bennet believes that his brother-in-law must have come up with several thousand pounds to buy Wickham off with, so why shouldn't he have found the money to pay for an expensive express letter, as well?
