]When Darcy thinks about what Elizabeth said, he has to be pleased that she believed him (Darcy) on that score.

I always think that she says, "--that I might have prevented it!--I who knew what he was", etc. partly because she wants to show Darcy two things: that she did believe him about Wickham, and that she could be trusted just as he supposed she could.

She probably feels almost instantly the effect that this elopement will have on her changing relationship with Darcy. And, of course, his actions in this conversation confirm her fears, in her opinion. She sees him as pulling away from her already, as she thought he would.
