] I can't see Lydia (Julia Sawalha) the tallest of the girls,I see her ,kind of, short , but she is the good humoured among them.

In P&P2, we had to be able to see that Lydia was the youngest, and if the actress playing that role had actually been the tallest, we might not have believed she was younger than the others. Julia Sawalha is actually older than Jennifer Ehle, but being shorter and acting sillier, she made Lydia appear younger than Elizabeth.

Casting a movie doesn't always require exactly the same description as in the novel, especially if the film makers are able to hire talented actresses/actors.
