You can't take at face value   Written by JulieW (2/16/2004 3:42 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Poor Mrs Bennet, penned by kathleen (elder)
Are you new?

ANYTHING she says.

A very clever and subtle device by JA. Brava.

BTW my favourite piece of acting "business" by Alison Steadman is when they are discussing where the newly wed Wickham's will live over dinner.Once Hill and the other servants come into the dining room , you just watch how her body language changes ,becoming grander, and she raises her voice by at least 20 decibels to make sure they hear of all her plans for them to take a housenearby..but not Haye Park as the Attics there are dreadful( and then she settles back into harriden mode , scolding Kitty as per, as the servants depart.Fabulous.LOL
