Additional evidence   Written by kathleen (elder) (2/15/2004 10:16 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Mrs. Bennet's character, penned by Line
Are you new?

Mrs Bennet is not pleased that Lydia & Wickham will be settled so far away in the north. Part of her regrets are that she won't be able to spend time socializing with her married daughter, but she also thinks it's too bad that Lydia will be going away from the ________ -shire regiment.

"She is so fond of Mrs. Forster," said she, "it will be quite shocking to send her away! And there are several of the young men, too, that she likes very much. The officers may not be so pleasant in General -- 's regiment."

Lydia is truly her mother's daughter -- getting married doesn't stop them from thinking about the other officers and how much Lydia likes them. What an odd thing to regret after all that has happened. :-)
