"respectable" in one sense   Written by Tara O'Donnell (2/15/2004 9:54 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Question about Lydia's respectability, penned by Karen Marija
Are you new?

I think the fact that Wickam did marry her(and settled some of his bills)gives Lydia and himself a small reprieve,at best. Of course, there will be some whisperings but Lydia is much too dense to be aware of it,plus the fact that the "happy" couple are moving to another part of the country helps.

As to punishment,I believe that the marriage itself will be punishment enough in the end:)
