An excellent nitpick!   Written by Julianne E. (2/15/2004 3:12 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, The biggest nit pickof them all, penned by JulieW
Are you new?

]"So much the better. It will save me a world of trouble and economy. Had it been your uncle's doing, I must and would have paid him; but these violent young lovers carry everything their own way. I shall offer to pay him to-morrow: he will rant and storm about his love for you, and there will be an end of the matter."

You're right; in fact, this scene isn't in P&P1 either, and I particularly love the way that Mr. Bennet immediately realizes that he won't need to pay the money back because Darcy is in love with Elizabeth. Any excuse to get back to the library!
