| Aunt's romantic at heart.

in consequence of the missive, Mrs Gardiner, penned by Emmeline
I love the end part of Aunt Gardiner's letter '...,or at least do not punish me so far, as to exclude me from P. I shall never be quite happy till I have been all round the park. A low phaeton, with a nice little pair of ponies, would be the very thing.' I think Aunt Gardiner believed Darcy and Lizzy were in love and an engagement was likely. She wouldn't believe them secretly engaged (she says to Lizzy earlier in book she knows she's a sensible girl.) However, Aunt's not-so-subtle hint seems very telling.Abit teasing? I wonder if Aunt Gardiner is abit of a romantic.
