Lydia is like an un-trainable puppy dog :-)   Written by kathleen (elder) (2/15/2004 10:19 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Her Aunt Gardiner tried, penned by Tara O'Donnell
Are you new?

The picture of Mrs Gardiner talking to Lydia and Lydia not listening always reminds me of the cartoon about what dogs really hear when their people are talking to them:

Blah blah blah blah walk; blah blah blah blah treat; blah blah blah blah good puppy; blah blah blah blah dinner.

Actually, I think the dog might be hearing more words than Lydia's "one word in ten." :-p

Lydia could not be bothered to listen to anything serious, especially when she was thinking about what clothes Wickham would be wearing. Silly, silly girl.
