The Phillips' money   Written by Ramya (2/15/2004 6:11 a.m.)
Are you new?

What would happen to the Phillips's money once they died? They do not seem to have any children, so is it reasonable to speculate that it would all pass on to the Bennet girls? Perhaps it all depends on Mr. Phillips, and his relations.

In NA, John Thorpe(and also the General) think that the Allen's money would be settled on Catherine. The Phillips are actually related to the Bennets, unlike the Allens, and seem quite well-off themselves. I wonder why no body in the story(not even Mrs. Bennet!) speculates on that angle!
