The elopement, again   Written by Vania (2/14/2004 4:31 p.m.)
Are you new?

I was reading Jane's letter to Lizzy and it struck me how different their views were, at least initially:(Jane)How thankful am I that we never let them (Mr. & Mrs. Bennet) know what has been said against him (Wickham)!we must forget it ourselves.' In comparison, there's Lizzy's Had I but explained some part of it only-some part of what I learnt, to my own family!"

Both were responsible for not giving their parents some information, but Jane would rather spare their parents. Much as I like Jane I have doubts with her sense here. Under stress perhaps or part of her nature to think this way?
