At the beginning of Chapter 4, we read Jane & Elizabeth's discussion of the Meryton Assembly. Jane had waited until she was alone with Elizabeth to speak about her admiration for Mr Bingley.
This scene establishes both sisters' characters as well as their different ways of viewing the world. But it is an especially nice scene for showing how close these 2 sisters are -- sort of a model of behaviour between two sensible young women, it seems to me.
