Darcy wiping his mouth   Written by Captain Everett (2/14/2004 9:42 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, If we are nitpicking........, penned by JulieW
Are you new?

It's been a long time since I've viewed P&P2, and don't have the time to wind through my tapes (off the TV) to take another look at the scene.

So I'll ask, was the mouth wiping immediately after one of Miss Bingley's comments (about the ____shire Militia?)? If so, might it not be some kind of involuntary reaction (a cough/start/twitch/spasm)? One that would cause him to momentarily loose control of the contents of his mouth. (In a cheap comedy a person might spray after hearing something startling.)

It would seem to fit. More obsessed viewers may comment. ;-)
