I agree with your reasoning. I had an early impression Wickham liked and even respected Lizzy for her lively energy, intelligence and wit. Not to mention their early similar dislike of Darcy. However, for these same reasons, and the fact she has no dowry, Lizzy is of no use to Wickham. He knows of her strong sense of responsibity to her family and she's too stable to run off with him or agree to be used by him in any schemes.
