I didn't get the impression...   Written by Vania (2/11/2004 9:16 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Question about what servants were used to, penned by Line
Are you new?

..that Mrs. Reynolds was overwhelmed by Mr. Darcy's "large party of friends." To me it looks like at least one of Darcy's servants believes in pride under good regulation; Mrs. Reynolds seems to be proud that her master has 'many' friends as houseguests. Along with that, there's her status as housekeeper to a gentleman with a fine estate, able to entertain, etc. She's giving the Gardiners and Lizzy a house tour after all and is showing off a bit, IMHO. What valuable information she gives! =)
