So very well stated!   Written by Geri-Lynn (2/11/2004 2:50 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, and how hard for Jane, penned by MelanieB
Are you new?

[Indeed, and how hard for Jane, as Lizzy acknowledges later, to bear all the anxiety with no confidante, particularly with her sensitive nature. Particularly upsetting, when we consider how hard she struggled to avoid making herself the focus of attention in her disappointment over Bingley and how little the rest of her family seem to be exerting themselves to spare others distress.]

I also felt sorry for Jane - that she had to quietly bear her own disappointment (with no Lizzy around), and at the same time endure her mother's squawking around about Lydia's predicament.

I always wondered why Kitty would keep quiet about Lydia's plans - knowing that her sister's actions could be the ruination of the family's good name. I guess this is just further proof that Kitty was indeed almost as silly and reckless in reasoning as Lydia.
