] This is what desperate means to me. A person that canīt stand that what they want is neglected, and will do anything to put themselves in the center of attention.

Perhaps we have a different definition of desperation. I guess if you describe taking a turn around the room with Elizabeth as an act of desparation, I have to wonder -- what is left to describe pretending to have a fit and falling on the floor? throwing herself at Darcy's feet and begging him to marry her?
